Hello there! I’m Aimi Rix, an artist on a journey that started with a brush, a canvas, and a world of imagination back in 1991. Over the past three decades, I’ve transformed from a self-taught artist to a storyteller who breathes life into canvases, creating narratives of strength, resilience, and empowerment. Embarking on a Creative Odyssey: My artistic journey kicked off with acrylics, took a detour into the world of oils, and more recently, embraced the dynamic and liberating realm of spray painting. Guided by the incredible Mark Tanti, aka Demograffix, this transition has allowed me to create expansive, large-scale works that resonate with vibrancy. Freedom Found in Spray: The fusion of my creativity with the freedom of spray painting has been truly transformative. Collaborating with Demograffix led to some awe-inspiring murals, including a monumental piece for Whipsnade Zoo in 2022 that still takes my breath away. Shifting My Focus: While large-scale murals have been my signature, a new chapter is unfolding. I now crave the solitude of canvas, desiring a space where I can meticulously craft artworks. It’s not just a shift in medium; it's a commitment to telling stories of powerful women, each canvas becoming a testament to their strength and beauty. Philosophy of Empowerment: My art is a celebration of powerful women—those who've overcome adversity, carrying stories etched in pain that radiate strength and beauty. The canvases become a medium to empower and inspire, reflecting my commitment to contributing meaningfully to the ongoing dialogue about the resilience of women.
