I got into creating mosaics 7 years ago. It started off as art therapy but after I made a surprise sale I thought I could make a career in this, something I'd never considered. So I started to work on my craft. An established Manchester mosaic artist took me under his wing as an unofficial apprentice and showed me new skills. I have since combined the basic skills taught by him with acquiring my own over time. My style involves measuring and shaping each individual piece so it fits together like a jigsaw puzzle for a clean finish and I colour the grout to match the tiles. I don't stick the the traditional methods as I use drills and other shaping tools.
