About
Hi! Born and raised in France, I am a visual artist, living and working in Toronto since 2015. From the early beginning of my artist's journey, I've been working around the concept and mechanism of memory. From questioning my own memory, with the influence of our dreams, then the development of habits, to the role of our emotions; I try to understand, how progressively we create our own personal history. In the same way, I was intrigued by the representation of our world in two dimensions. How we are surrounded by maps and how they help us understanding our world. How they can display so much information in a quite simple way. How they constitute a reference of what sometimes we can’t see by ourselves and act like mirrors. And how, without it, we wouldn’t be able to picture ourselves in this world. This is why I came to develop two main art series: - LEGENDS: a conceptual work, consisting in creating some cartography versions of people's lives and unique moments. - PERSISTENCE OF LIFE: a more illustrative work, consisting in depicting an everyday life moment through the scope of memories and what is left of it. I make art to tell a story and share a perspective on the world, for people to feel and question themselves. My pieces are unique and handmade. For more details, please contact me!
