Porter The Artist

Growing up in a small town in the 80’s and traveling weekends to visit his father, Porter took in many opportunities to see the world in a different light than most of his friends and quickly loved vhs films, graffiti, skateboarding, music and used all of this as an influence in his love for drawings. In his teenage years during the early 90’s, the young artist became heavily involved in graffiti and eventually travelled across Canada using his thumb and trading art for rides so he could courageously explore the wonders of the world dreaming of what type of world he could create around him if art could ever be his main focus.   Meeting several people along the way, an accomplished artist crossed the young mans path and said something to him that would forever be engrained in the basis of his entire future path “ If you go to school and learn everything they teach everyone else, you’ll be like everyone else! Art is different, it chooses its own path if you want to be unique.” And unique is what Porter has become. An Art style that has been mimicked but not duplicated, Porter has learned how to use every combination of life events to form one style that can be many styles but is always recognized as his own, and has with credibility earned him the moniker of “THAT’S A PORTER!”  With decades of graffiti experience, airbrushing, pallet knives, charcoal, painting with deep mountainous textures and explosive brush work, Porter has been able to make the art world his own. With a Toronto graffiti contest win for Warner Bros movie “The WATCHMEN”, and a 2013 solo art show in Park City, Utah for the Sundance movie festival corporation collections. Porter branched into fine art and earned over a decades worth of experience hanging in top galleries from Aspen to Whistler to New York and Private collections worldwide. With a bold signature heavily recognized in his artwork as homage to the style that created him, he is on his way to becoming a household name.  Currently spending most of his time working on clients commissions worldwide, Porter can be reached for personalized commissions, and corporate collections.
