For the past decade I have drawn influences from various fictional story worlds such as film, or folklore. Through the years, history, technology and sci-fi have given me visual and conceptual cues that I have practiced and developed with. Spiritual. philosophical, theatrical and political topics have come into the fold. Using fiction to relate to relevant meanings. An interest in materials and techniques which can provide added effects. The materials are simply the building blocks for the composition, whichever they may be. The final idea is to make some kind of magical picture with its own aura, in the vein of religious art of the past, but perhaps broader in meaning. The aesthetic of a piece must serve to justify its meaning.
