I'm an artist from Chia, Colombia that goes by the name "BUSTA".
My passion for urban art, as well as my interest in artwork that reveals the complexity and beauty of the human form, has influenced my work substantially throughout my life.
In a classic sense, I have learned from master artists like Michelangelo, da Vinci, Velazquez, Rembrandt, Rodin, and many others, how paint can be used to give meaning and power to an image placed upon its canvas. This immortalizes the individual or scene that is being depicted.
On the other hand, during my experience as a graffiti artist, I have worked with images and texts in public places, and as a result, my main influences came from hip-hop culture and other social scenes, as well as indigenous culture. Being raised around an indigenous community called "MUISCAS" or "CHIBCHAS", helped me to understand the spiritual aspect of painting and influenced my work using some of the patterns and colors they use.
For those reasons I focus heavily on colorful portraits, lettering and typography as a form of personal artistic expression.
