I photograph and paint, and strive to depict emotional states with symbolic color, orchestrated composition and Caravaggio-inspired filmic action.
I worked for years at NBC as Network News Graphic Artist and Photographer, and as still photographer on several major films, including the hip-hop classic "Breakin'".
I won the Grand Prize in the Nikon Photo Contest International, as well as a Third Prize and several Honorable Mentions, Best of Show at the State Museum of Pennsylvania's annual all-media show "Art of the State," and more than a dozen Best in Shows, First prizes and Purchase Prizes from Museums and art competitions.
I founded and ran a street level NYC photography gallery for female photographers, with 40 feet of window on 5th Avenue at 47th Street, naming the gallery Fotoforum, after the original in Frankfurt, Germany.
I curated "Make it Big," a reunion art show for my Harvard classmates, "Relief," at Broadway Gallery in NYC, and "Art of the Garden," a library exhibition of 100 artists.
My photographs have recently been exhibited in solo shows at the Ballina Arts Centre and at the Museum of Country Life's Courtyard Gallery, both in County Mayo, Ireland and in group shows at the Irish Embassy Berlin and at the Boyle Arts Festival in County Roscommon. I paired my photos with haiku written by Irish poet Gabriel Rosenstock and self-published a catalogue for the Berlin show, titling it "Moment." I also self-published a second book, "Irish Isles" of my photos of Irish landscapes.
I was published online in May 2022 in Edge of Humanity Magazine with a series of street photography from my upcoming book "The Ironic Age."
I recently won Third Prize in Photojournalism in the International Color Awards, with "Belfast Piece,"
and published in the 15th edition of the WINNERS BOOK and featured in the Winners Video Series.
All About Photo Magazine included my work in the 22nd Edition and on their website with a full portfolio, as a winner in the 2021 "STREETS" competition.
I was published in the winter edition of a Californian art magazine, "Catamaran," with my images of the Middle East chosen to resonate with a short story "Sunbirds."
