Originally from County Durham I studied at Bath Academy of Art where I obtained my degree in Fine Art, Painting. After leaving Art School in 1990 I worked in the Homelessness sector in Glasgow for 28 years. Throughout that time I also painted exhibiting in various galleries in Glasgow. I have developed my own style over these years painting mainly figurative work with strong narratives. I draw inspiration from personal experiences and observations of people and places as well as literature, Philosophical themes and symbolism.
