I am an illustrator, writer, designer, researcher and workshop facilitator based in Glasgow, Scotland. I have over 15 years’ experience in the field, and have worked with many clients, both corporate and 3rd sector, with several repeat clients. Over the years I have worked on many comic books, particularly within the Glaswegian small press community. Tomorrow, written by Jack Lothian and published by BHP Comics, was nominated for a British Fantasy Award. My own comic, Gonzo Cosmic, was nominated for several SICBA Awards.
I have recently completed an MLitt (Distinction) and a PhD at University of Dundee, supervised by Prof. Chris Murray and co-supervised by Prof. Glyn Davis (U of St. Andrews). My research focused on the innovative uses of time and temporality in the work of queer graphic artists and what we can learn from this about the plastic, experimental nature of time in comics. My thesis is called ‘Braiding Time: Queer Temporality and Chronotopical Experimentation in Comics.’ I am currently working on a monograph of this research for Routledge, called ‘Making Time: Chronotopical Adventures in Queer Comics Temporalities.’
I am also currently working on a number of personal projects, including PRAXIS, Sux Ess, LACUNA, AION, and UnSong. I am at work on a couple of private illustration commissions and editing.
