About
My name is Shanthi Srinivasan, and I am an artist based in the vibrant city of Bangalore. My artistic journey has been one of discovery, growth, and a deep connection with nature. Art has always been my way of expressing the beauty, complexity, and serenity of the natural world around us, and it is through my paintings that I seek to share that experience with others. My work focuses primarily on portraying nature in its most vibrant and raw forms. From the colors of the sky to the textures of the earth, I strive to capture the essence of what makes our natural environment so awe-inspiring. Nature has always been my muse—its infinite variety, its ever-changing moods, and its powerful sense of life and energy. To bring this vision to life, I primarily use acrylic paints as my medium of choice. Acrylics allow me the flexibility and vibrancy needed to create the layers and depth that I desire. However, what truly sets my work apart is my choice of tools. I predominantly use a palette knife rather than traditional brushes. This technique is intentional; the palette knife allows me to add textures to my work, giving it a tactile quality that a brush simply cannot achieve. The bold strokes and layers of paint build depth and perception, turning the canvas into a dynamic and immersive experience. Each texture, each mark, is carefully crafted to evoke the raw beauty of nature and its many facets. Through the use of the palette knife, my goal is not just to paint a scene but to make it feel alive, almost tangible. The textures create an illusion of depth, as if you could reach out and touch the landscape or feel the wind in the trees. This added dimension allows viewers to experience my paintings on a deeper level, engaging not just their eyes but also their senses. I have been fortunate enough to showcase my work in over 10 art exhibitions across India, where I have had the opportunity to present my art to a diverse audience. These exhibitions have been both a platform to share my passion and a chance for me to learn and grow as an artist. Each new exhibition brings a fresh perspective, a new interaction with art lovers, and a chance to see my own journey unfold. As an artist, I am continually inspired by the world around me—whether it’s a serene sunset, a lush forest, or a vibrant garden. Nature speaks to me in colors, shapes, and textures, and it is through my art that I try to reflect these silent conversations. It is a process of constant exploration, where I discover new techniques, new forms of expression, and new ways to connect with the world around me. In conclusion, art is my way of celebrating the magnificence of nature. Through each stroke of the palette knife, I aim to bring the natural world to life in a way that is both vibrant and visceral. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with all of you, and I hope that my work can inspire others to look more closely at the beauty that surrounds us every day. Thank you.
