Wee Jeanie McCall
A large mural painted on concrete in the Southside of Glasgow. The mural features a lyric from a famous old Scottish song about someone meeting their love. The artwork is an abstract expression of the moment when the new couple are caught in a downpour but nevertheless are very happy.
Meet the Artist
Glasgow, United KingdomHiya! I'm Lewi, an artist, designer and mural painter living and working in Glasgow. I create both large and small scale artworks - in which harmonious colours are adopted combining pastels and brights to give coordinated and sympathetic abstract works, at times including typography. The aim? To bring colour and joy to public spaces (or homes/businesses) in what can sometimes feel like a grey city - owing to the weather - definitely not the people, or the beautiful buildings. My murals are inspired by sublime natural beauty around me, which sounds lame but IS NOT! It’s the sky, clouds, sunsets, sunsets with clouds, more clouds, the weather, simple pleasures we see daily that ebb and flow and can inspire awe is what inspires his work. My murals can be found in homes, bars, restaurants and in large scale outdoor public spaces. I also works on furniture, homewares and other bespoke artwork commissions. I am also very friendly so don't be shy and say hiya!
