A large mural on a corrugated iron shutter near SWG3 in Glasgow. This project was really a chance for me to explore using the brightest colours to flow from the artworks close by, this project also gave me a chance to explore different use of patterns with gradients. The instagrammers love to pose infront of this one, which I love.
Meet the Artist
Glasgow, United KingdomHiya! I'm Lewi, an artist, designer and mural painter living and working in Glasgow. I create both large and small scale artworks - in which harmonious colours are adopted combining pastels and brights to give coordinated and sympathetic abstract works, at times including typography. The aim? To bring colour and joy to public spaces (or homes/businesses) in what can sometimes feel like a grey city - owing to the weather - definitely not the people, or the beautiful buildings. My murals are inspired by sublime natural beauty around me, which sounds lame but IS NOT! It’s the sky, clouds, sunsets, sunsets with clouds, more clouds, the weather, simple pleasures we see daily that ebb and flow and can inspire awe is what inspires his work. My murals can be found in homes, bars, restaurants and in large scale outdoor public spaces. I also works on furniture, homewares and other bespoke artwork commissions. I am also very friendly so don't be shy and say hiya!
