Water by Rebecca Dzartov in Melbourne

“Water” is the second piece of art in my “Elements” series. This illustration’s main subject is an arm sliced in half, thats covered in eyes and reaching up out of a lake while holding a star in the sky. Grey toned blues and a pair of jellyfish make up the colours of the sky almost blending into the layers of trees in the background. This scene sits behind an oval frame thats decorated with rocks, mushrooms, gems, bones, tree roots and teeny critters like snails, mice and spiders. It also features iguana bones in each corner and overgrown Agapanthus flowers popping out onto the frame. To finish off this bad boy I’ve written the Macedonian word for water printed on the bottom left and added some gold leaf details. Isaiah 58:11 “The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”
