Shangilia skatepark by Lespleen in London

Shangilia skatepark is the biggest skatepark in east Africa located in shangilia children’s home. This project started with 0 budget. Our attempt was to bring a new light to it in order to help to develop the skating and the bmx scene in Nairobi. It was also an attempt to bring to the children a new form of art to help to develop their creative thinking and skill set. In addition to it we hope that the renovation of the park will bring the children’s home a new income to help for their school fees and food. Which is already happening! The children helped A LOT and couldn’t do it without them! Also some of the skaters helped so much! I am so grateful for the huge help. It took great amount of energy and drive to find sponsorship (#crownpaints, #marooopaint) and people donating free time and money towards this huge project 800m(2). We went through a lot of struggle and I personally could not give up so as always I kept pushing. There is a lot to say about this project of which I will write all the details on my ‘travelleg’ blog soon. Thanks to my colleague and friend @snow13art who helped so much. I couldn’t finish without you! We worked extremely hard for this project to happen. I had days where my back was shouting for pain. It wasn’t easy.
