Sandra Cisneros "Mujer Sin Verguenza"

This is an original illustration and painting art print featuring Mexican American poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, performer, and artist, @officialsandracisneros . After indulging in Sandra Cisneros’s poetry masterpiece, “Mujer Sin Vergüenza,” I was struck by her spirit and style. I knew I had to capture her in a portrait that would do her justice. Inspired by Spanish artist Beatriz Ramo @naranjalidad , I drew her in timeless graphite, surrounded by elements that embody her roots. Sandra’s love for all things maguey is evident in the blue agave leaves embracing her and growing around her. Her sweater is adorned with glyphs and drawings that pay homage to Mexican folklore and celebrate her vibrant personality.
