Roots of a life by Gabriella Ranito-Baltazar in Leeds

I am a Leeds, UK based artist who works across a multitude of mediums, focusing on large scale abstract paintings. I focus on depth of colour, texture and ambience to create emotive pieces. I love creating work that makes people think and use their imagination to see how the work relates to them on a personal level. I have been lucky enough to have 4 solo exhibitions, as well as participate in a multitude of virtual and group exhibitions across the North and London. I usually use a combination of acrylic paint, sand and mixed mediums to create beautiful textures and cracking effects which is prevalent throughout my work. imperfection, emotion and balance are the main themes of my work. I usually practice through layering, I will paint a piece to completion, and then paint another on top of that, and so on, until I feel the piece has fully matured in to an evolved version of itself.
