Painted around the existing sign on the door to my friend's studio in Berlin; we laid the foundations together; mixing concrete - using a drill which began smoking (Rauchen Varboten translates to No Smoking!) I used pigment for the first time (leftovers from her father's days as an art professor) and gave a nod to her own beginnings as a commercial artist - designing lamps. It also features my own fears climate change triggered flooding after returning to Europe post-COVID and recognising for the first time the high percentage of flights which are for short trips.
