Queanbeyan - Youth Skate Park Mural
Throughout the course of production, we hosted several workshops for local youth aged 11-25 years from Karabar High School, Queanbeyan High, St Gregory’s, and St Clares College introducing a broad range of skills from initial consultation to concept and design, planning and eventually the hands-on hard work of executing a large scale mural.
Over 200 litres of @duluxaus paint were used to transform over 500 square metres of tired skatepark into a giant artwork over a two week period. Giant slabs of bold colour form a massive image of a familiar and positive and fond childhood memory; snacking on hot chips at the local skatepark featuring a visiting kookaburra. The design is not only a nod to local fauna, but also pays homage to local Queanbeyan boy turned international pro skater Jack Fardell @jackfardell The immense scale of this artwork is best appreciated in person or from the air.

His driving passion for creating stemmed from an early love of comic books and cartoons and later developed to the influences of action sports, urban and rural landscapes, people and wildlife, concrete and culture.
Today Mike’s illustrative and bold imagery continues to capture the magic of the world around him.
Mike places a massive emphasis on quality over quantity, forever developing his own unique and unforgettable style. Whether it’s a pair of skis, a beer label, a company logo, or of course, his preferred size canvas: Large Scale Outdoor Murals, the style is always unmistakably Mike’s.
Mike’s approach to his work is at the highest professional standards, from concept to design and proposal through production and final delivery. Mike employs the same enthusiasm and attention to detail when working with small bespoke brands as he does with Local governments, brands, Agencies and the private sector.
