Penman Reserve Playground Mural Blairgowrie by FatherMarker in Coburg

Penman Reserve Playground Mural Blairgowrie

This 20m2 cement pipe mural was commissioned by the Penman Reserve community group and funded by the local community of Blairgowrie with assistance from The Mornington Peninsula Arts and Culture sector. I was asked to create a mural depicting local flora and fauna found in Blairgowrie. Both interior and exterior surfaces show an underwater environment laden with marine animals and different seaweeds and environments such as sea grass beds, sandy plains, rock shelves and kelp forests. This mural was painted with both aerosol and brush and I had the pleasure of including local Sorrento primary school students from grade 5 & 6 to assist for a morning during the set up stage as an experience to the aspiring artists at the school.
