1st Mornington Scouts mural by FatherMarker in Coburg

1st Mornington Scouts mural

1st Mornington Scouts approached me wanting to create a mural for their hall along with ex-scout and aspiring artist, Eligh (15) as a mentorship based project. The hall was constantly being tagged and vandalised and due to the pandemic, the scouts lost members and needed a boost of morale for the troop. The artwork was inspired by the scouts and their love of the outdoors, adventure, friendship and native flora and fauna. The 87m2 wall depicts a “Scouts” graffiti piece (designed and executed by Eligh) set in an outdoor camping scene in the Australian bush. Illuminated by campfire light, the custom typeface is characterised with the 1st Mornington scouts uniform, badges, neck tie and other unique details. The tent is set around the hall’s doorway and Aussie animals, representing the scout leaders titles hide amongst the scene.
