Nature Mural Design, Banyule City Council by Angharad Neal-Williams in Melbourne

Inspired by the surrounding neighbourhood and parklands, Banyule City Council commissioned a mural installed on the hit up wall on the recently renovated James Reserve in Heidelberg Heights. The series of five designs installed throughout the park creates a sense of adventure, curiosity, wonder and awe in nature, reminding viewers to explore different terrains and the surprises we can find in our natural environments, both near and far. Each of the designs depicts a terrain inspired by the themes explored in the playground including river, grassland, mud and forest. The small joy of walking on a muddy path, or the sense of adventure and wonder you can feel from bird watching at your local park are all feelings that the mural aims to capture, whilst communicating with the users of the park that adventure is never far away.
