Magazine Cover Body Art by MED?IO in Toronto
Magazine Cover Body Art
Body art is a unique collaborative production involving professional models and dancers, photography, and the signature style of MED?IO's art. Using the body as a natural moving canvas, we celebrate and embrace our physical traits, personalities, and our unique stories. All models painted by MED?IO are free-handed with body paint. By improvising the designs on each model, the spontaneous patterns and compositions reveal the unique essence of each individual participating in this creative ritual.
Meet the Artist
Toronto, CanadaI am a Toronto-based artist specializing in elaborate hand paintings and digital art. Known for my “calligraffiti” aesthetic, I apply dynamic clash of graffiti and traditional lettering on surfaces including large scale murals, luxury vehicles, high fashion, and brand collaborations. In the past I have worked and exhibited in places including Zurich, Barcelona, New York, Dubai, and Miami.
As an immigrant from Tirana, Albania, my core inspiration to my style birthed from Toronto’s rich array of cultures and ethnicities. I disrupt the conventions of calligraphy by creating my own encrypted language based on emotion, rhythm, and movement. My subjects include a range of abstract, symbolism, and illustrative portraits. Through my pieces, I strive to shine light on our integral human essence by combining lettering elements from various languages around the world.
