Illustrated for the magazine Violence against Women by LIN CHENG in Glasgow
Illustrated for the magazine Violence against Women
This is an illustration I made for a magazine. The article mainly tells that women in some areas are bound by the traditional ideas and public opinions of the family, so they have to be trapped at home even if they suffer from domestic violence.
My name is Lin Cheng, my artistic name is orangeland. I am an illustrator and visual creator living in the UK.
I graduated from Shandong University of the Arts in China and the University of the Arts in London. Over the past ten years, I had some illustration work experience. Companies I corporated with in the past: National Power Grid Corporation(Shandong, China), China Shandong Education Press, and Beijing Pineapple Circle Company. I also worked for the university magazine at the University of the Arts London.
I divided the project into different sections for viewing. I have explored different forms of image and text. It was a long and interesting journey.
I am interested in children, female, relational contexts and families and have created some stories around these themes. I believe drawings can convey feelings and emotions. During this long journey of painting, I have gradually added elements of traditional ink from my initial attempts at electronic painting. What I wanted to present was language that had a more sense of place.
