One of the biggest in scale and very important project for me. I painted these walls with graffiti back when I was a 10 years old kid and as an emerging artist at 21 I decided to repaint them once again. The mural has 5 quotes and lots of separate words meshing together into one organic composition. As for the color I picked 2 shades of brown to keep the atmosphere warm and cozy at home. This way large amount of letters doesn’t depress you with their weight. It covers 2 floors. The materials used: interior & acrylic paint on concrete walls. 2021.
Meet the Artist
Toronto, CanadaI'm a modern calligraphy artist from Kyiv who’s currently based in Toronto. My way started back in 2012 with street art and exploration of letterforms. This hobby created a path for me into the OCAD University where I studied Graphic Design. Using collected knowledge, my focus shifted from the traditional image of a designer to more of an artistic perspective.
Since 2020, I'm a great supporter of modern Calligraphy movement. The main idea is to absorb knowledge of different cultures & their alphabets >>> to transform traditional letterforms into more abstract / expressive / interesting shapes. Through this practice, I believe to unite those cultures together.
