Good Conversation with the Psygod Wibli Wobli’s by Rebecca Dzartov in Melbourne

Good Conversation with the Psygod Wibli Wobli’s

This painting was made as a sort of experiment to see how long and how difficult it was to paint certain objects I had never painted before like, the female bodies, the water colour type of background, shiny googley eyes, the melting of the face, and blending of the sand. It was also something new and interesting to make and attach the pebbles. This painting took months, a fun little escape from everything while sorting out my mental and physical health. As I slowly started to chip away at the design I learned a couple of things, the first being that a slang word for jellyfish in Welsh is Psygod Wibli Wobli, which is honestly just fun to say. The second is that I had to stop putting my faith in myself or anyone but God. This piece represents the soul work I pray everyone makes the time to do.
