The creation of this painting was partly inspired by my late uncle, Gunter, whose artistic journey served as a profound source of motivation. Throughout his life, my uncle’s work had been a constant source of inspiration for me. However, it was towards the twilight of his years that he discovered his true passion for painting, remarking that he was “finally able to do what he loved.” His artistic expressions were characterized by a unique blend of geometric forms, vibrant colors, and exquisite framing, resulting in truly remarkable pieces. Inspired by his artistic ability, I had long held a desire to create a work of art in my own distinctive style. This piece, titled “Glacial Blue,” pays homage to the majestic mountains and glaciers that I have had the privilege of exploring during my life. Living in Utah and spending a lot of time in Alaska visiting family has given me countless opportunities to observe these awe-inspiring natural wonders and they have truly left an enduring mark on my soul.
