As a charcoal artist, I harness the raw and expressive nature of this medium to create immersive and moving art. Salt Lake City, United StatesI am a self-taught artist hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been creating art since I was a child, with a deep passion for drawing, painting, and fine art photography.
My artistic journey has been a diverse one, as I love exploring a wide range of styles and mediums. Whether it's photo-realistic renditions of pop art, wildlife, and landscapes, or the more free-flowing expressions of scribble art with pen and ink - I find joy in constantly experimenting and pushing the boundaries of my creative abilities.
At the heart of my artistic practice lies a deep affinity for the timeless mediums of charcoal and graphite. These versatile materials allow me to capture the intricate details and nuanced expressions of my subjects with a level of photorealism that is truly captivating. From famous personalities and beloved musicians to the majestic beauty of wildlife and landscapes, my charcoal and graphite drawings possess a striking realism that invites the viewer to step into the frame and become immersed in the scene.
Alongside my love for the precision of photorealistic art, I also find great joy in the spontaneity and energy of more expressive techniques. Using pen and acrylic ink, I create dynamic drawings that incorporate inspiring lyrics, quotes, and messages from the artists and individuals who have left an indelible mark on my life. The interplay of bold, vibrant colors and the raw, gestural quality of these works imbues them with a sense of character and personality that resonates deeply with me.

For the past 20 years, I have also been captivated by fine art photography, using my camera to capture the breathtaking beauty of the natural world around me. As a lifelong resident of Utah, I have been endlessly inspired by the state's diverse and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Through my fine art photography, I aim to transport viewers to these remarkable places, allowing them to experience the serenity, grandeur, and power of the natural world. Whether it's the flowing sandstone of a slot canyon, the jagged peaks of a towering mountain range, or the peacefulness of a desert landscape, I seek to capture the essence of each subject with a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the majesty of the great outdoors.
My photographic process is one of patient observation, technical mastery, and a relentless pursuit of the perfect composition. I often spend hours, or even days, immersed in a particular location, waiting for the right light, the ideal angle, or the fleeting moment that will transform a good photograph into a truly exceptional one.
The result is a body of work that celebrates the breathtaking beauty of Utah's landscapes, inviting viewers to step into the scene and experience the wonder and tranquility of these natural sanctuaries.
