Girl with a Jerrycan by Babs in Singapore

Girl with a Jerrycan

The expression of the girl in the photograph was what drew me to capture her emotions onto a canvas I was going through a period of loss and the visible emotion on her face found its way into my art My Fathers obsession with Jerrycans souls also have been a very motivating factor for the immense pull to paint this picture Portraying the stark reality of life in Kenya and ability to convey her disgruntled nature through my art piece gave me immense satisfaction I have loved working on this art piece adding slight texture lights and shadows and the pale hue that lends to the beauty of the picture The art work on stretched canvas of size 16 by 12 inches is outlined with water colour pencil painted with acrylic paints & brought to life with brushed and bare use of pallet knife
