Fallen Angels by James Callaghan Art in Glasgow

Fallen Angels

Painted in Acrylics on a stretched canvas frame measuring approx 81x101cm. On the 22nd of March 2017, a terror attack took place on Westminster Bridge in London. At 14:40 a loan terrorist drove a vehicle across the bridge, mounting the pavement, injuring 50 people and taking the lives of 5 innocent people. This painting was painted as a tribute to those who lost their lives, and their families and loved ones they left behind. Painted in black and white with the shaft of light from the sky highlighting the bridge and casting colour on the angels that represent the 5 innocent victims. Through the painting are 5 coloured butterflies which are to symbolise the hope of peace for those who lost their lives, and for their families and loved ones.
