Drinks with Dad by Hamley Jenkins in London
Drinks with Dad
A recent BaA commission, the client was looking for a really special birthday present for his wife, recreating a fond memory of having drinks with her Dad before he passed away.
Upon request, the client supplied additional reference photos and an initial rough drawing was made up for the client to edit.
The final drawing was executed in carbon pencil, chalk pencil and coloured pencil on A3 grey art paper, and at this stage the client requested several alterations that helped me get the piece just right for her.

London, United KingdomIf you look around you now, you will see words and symbols, and not everyone can use both effectively. Using my artistic skills to help people express themselves is what I find rewarding. If you can put it into words, I can paint the picture - or the portrait. Or design the illustration you need for your project, or inspire an audience by sketching a performance live before their eyes, or fill your window with a temporary whitewash that doubles as art.
