Deptford Warp and Weft by Shauna Anseo in London

Irish muralist, portraitist & street artist, based in New Cross, Southeast London. Shauna’s visual arts practice is grounded in figuration and reflects how self-definition is informed by place. She is interested in questions of unreliable memories, collective social identity, and inter-dependence. She has recently begun a series of ethereal portraits of women and girls interacting with light, both a visual investigation of the playfulness of light on a figure and a symbolic gesture recognising how painting in a community of women brought sparked a new energy in her artistic practice. She is also experimenting with geometry, 3D-space and optical illusion work.
