Ruby is a signwriter and mural artist with 8 years of experience. She has developed a unique style which differentiaties her from traditional signpainters, although she uses predominantly traditional techniques with brushes, paint and gold leaf gilding. Her work feels contemporary yet retro, and with her own spin. She takes time and care with each project to create high quality, long lasting and unique work which connects us to humanness, craftsmanship and the handmade in an ever growing digital landscape. Ruby has a degree in design in visual communication and paints signage, murals and ornament which is in conversation with its location. She also pulls inspiration from historical architectural movements like art nouveau and the arts and crafts movement which celebrate beauty and detail in our every day lives as a rejection of mass production and homogenisation.
