In 2023, I had the pleasure of creating a custom mural for the wonderful team at Chicknic in Bee Cave, Texas. This project was particularly exciting as it was the final artistic touch before the restaurant's grand opening, adding a vibrant new layer to their space. My approach, which I refer to as 'Patchwork style,' proved incredibly versatile here, adapting seamlessly to the restaurant's diverse wall sizes and architectural elements. This compositional method allowed me to integrate many different visual elements while still maintaining a cohesive core image.
The design phase for this mural was a truly collaborative effort. While you'll notice plenty of my signature core imagery, there are also special touches and influences from the owners, including the distinct Austin FC logo tree, a charming bee in the top left corner, and even subtle nods to the restaurant's own branding. It's always incredibly gratifying when clients respect the artist's vision, and together, we create something that everyone involved is genuinely excited about.
