Blue Bottle Bloom

2020, 24×12 inches (61x31cm), Oil, Acrylic & recycled plastic on canvas. Using recycled plastic in the elements of my paintings has pretty much become a norm for me these days, this is the first piece I had made with it. Finding a creative and visually appealing way to use this texture with paint was the goal, not only was I happy with that outcome but I was also happy to share my art in a better way with my mum. Having a parent who’s basically blind means if I can give my canvas texture and make something for her to touch and even slightly enjoy, it almost makes it worth it. What’s the point in creating art if you can’t share it with your own mum?
