Antique handpainted trunk
This is an old trunk dated about 50 years old is a refurbished piece of furniture. It is called as a Rangoon box ,traditionally used to store clothes and jewellery and now it is being used a centre table/console at a residential house. The trunk is painted with traditional folk art known as Gondh art( tribal folk art of India).

Meet the Artist
Auckland, New ZealandMy work is an artistic interpretation of what I see, feel and imagine along my various journeys in life. It is also a compilation of my visual experiences as a traveller. I reckon that art is a way of expressing one’s state of mind and that it need not always have meaning.
I have previously drawn inspiration from painters like Van Gough, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo, to name a few. But I also like to create my own techniques in my work using mixed media paints. I find it exciting to explore new material and create art out of it.
While I use a variety of materials and painting processes across my projects, my methodology remains consistent. I have been painting on customised furniture for almost 2 years and I have painted various wall murals with my own customised design. At the same time I have painted various commissioned canvases for different interior projects. I also love painting on ceramic plates which make for excellent wall décor and instantly transform any dull space or a wall.
Please contact me if you are interested in mixed media, acyclic, alcoholic ink, watercolour paintings and sewing artworks. I have done significant work with these form of artworks and would love to share my expertise to either create custom artworks or work with you to offer a piece from my existing collections.
I am also experienced in painting art on furniture's as part of refurbishing old furniture's, and several of my previous furniture artworks have successfully been installed in various upscale interior projects in Hyderabad.
