I accidentally came across portrait drawing as a teenager in my bedroom on a regular school night. For some reason, I had a very random intuition that I could pick up a pencil and create a face. I finished my first portrait in a couple of hours and walked out of my room to show my parents my new creation. They were absolutely gob smacked by my talent that seemed to spring out of nowhere! I have never studied art or any other kind of creative degrees, but my mother tells me that my natural talent must have come from my grandfather, who used to be an avid painter. I am fascinated by faces and I love drawing them. My goal is to produce portraits that not only have a spot-on likeness but also express my subjects’ personality.
