About
I use art as a path that allows me to reflect on the current problems and activate thoughts around the hegemonic situations existing in the contemporary world. Drawing, painting, sculpture, and new media are means I use to create metaphors, hybrids, parodies, and simulations. I utilize different shapes (human bodies, military weapons, objects of daily use, etc.) that merge and produce absurd, ironic, and humorous images loaded with political connotations with which I try to guide the viewer towards a sense evoked from the fusion of these. The pieces with surrealist aesthetic merge universes from different natures to create deformed and distorted illusory characters and artifacts as a metaphor for the animality and brutality of the human essence. In the works, I am interested in going beyond the limits of the shape to delve into the violence of our existence.
