KOZMA

KOZMA is a Detroit-born & raised Pop Surrealist Artist (b.1990). Her work explores ancient cultural & spiritual beliefs blending the realms of the subconscious from an intrinsically modern perspective. Showcasing an ethos of sultry dreamscapes, elegant abstractions & wild character-driven concepts, she's known for creating a wide range of paintings, murals, sculptures & art installations. Her art has been exhibited Nationally at Galleries & Festivals around the United States & is part of numerous private collections including a large selection of work in the collection of multi-Grammy Award-winning Musician, Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. After graduating from the Detroit School of Arts in 2008, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Art from the College for Creative Studies in 2012. In 2013, she became an entrepreneur co-founding the Detroit art brand, Armageddon Beachparty which became prevalent in the local community & exhibited nationally for a decade. In 2018, the Armageddon Beachparty Lounge, opened in Midtown, Detroit which included an immersive gallery & music venue that served as vibrant creative hub & cultural platform, providing opportunities for both established & up and coming performers & musicians until she retired the project in late 2022. In 2024, she joined her fiance Peter Beard in running their non-profit, the Life After High School Association with the mission to make a positive impact on the future of the youth of Detroit. Nationally, KOZMA has exhibited at numerous festivals including Electric Forest (MI), Murals In The Market (MI), Voodoo Experience (LA) & Afropunk Brooklyn (NY). Her work has also been featured in various publications such as Detroit Metro Times, BLAC Magazine, The Knight Foundation, The Metropolitan, Crains Detroit Business, Curbed Detroit, Essay'd, Model D Media & more.
