I am a new Dutch master from the School of Rembrandt. My medium of choice is pastel pencils. I have been doing art for 30 years, but my focus on portraits started 5 years ago and I develloped a specific way of getting potraits the way I want them. I come visit and make a recording, then we find the perfect moment of that recording, then I edit that photo and take it from there. When the portraity nears completion is send photo's for you to review, and I come in person to deliver the portrait, framed and behind museum glass. Always keep it behind UV protection glass, because Pastel is fragile like charcoal. I make pastel drawings 30x40 CM, delivered in luxery frame behind museumglass. The price of 1600 includes all fees, me visiting you to make the recording, and includes personal delivery throughout the Netherlands.

Old men and beautifull young women are my favorite subjects. Old men most often have interesting details, and you can't go wrong with beautifull young women. I have seen dozens of replica's of "the girl with the pearl", but a pretty girl does make a differnce. My challenge of course, is to find the prettiest angle.

I'll sit these ones out :-

I don't like fuzzy photo's and photo's with bad lighting,   I just won't draw from them.
Doesn't matter how beautifull the subject,   if the lighting is not interesting,   the painting will get boring.

I was on local TV and magazine.
Currently drawing on late afternoons,   live in the Fries Museum,   Januari and Februari 2026,  
during the Wybrand de Geest exhibition.
