Panos Kasimis is a Greek photographer with nearly four decades of experience working at the intersection of humanist documentary and visual poetry. He studied at the Royal College of Art and was mentored by renowned photographers Chris Killip and Mary Ellen Mark.
His work explores physical and emotional expression—how people relate to each other and their environments—through projects that span cities, communities, and personal histories. He has exhibited internationally, with solo shows in Athens, Rome, Juneau (Alaska), and Eindhoven, and has participated in group exhibitions in London, Paris, Istanbul, and beyond.
He has published three previous photobooks: Days Away (2009), Urban Diaries (2013, with a preface by Larry Fink), and Babylon (2024). His writings on photography were collected in Depth of Field (2023), a volume of essays and reflections on visual culture and photographic practice.
A dedicated educator, he has lectured at universities and art institutions across Greece and Europe. He is the founder of the Athens-based photography club Ennea (2001) and the Center of Creative Photography (2013), and has led workshops for both professionals and advanced amateurs across the continent.
He lives and works between Athens and Berlin.
