Mahtab is a multi-disciplinary artist based in London, with Iranian and British heritage. Her father was an artist she was Inspired by her father's passion for art. She obtained her Bachelor’s of fine art in 1988 and her Master's of fine Art in 2000. she pursued her creative path and has been working in London since 2011. Her art spans various media, from canvases and screens to people's skin. Mahtab has worked as a successful freelance artist for several years in Iran & UK. Her artworks have been housed in private collections and public throughout the Middle East & UK.
Mahtab’s paintings centre on femininity / private life and social conditions of women particularly focusing on gender issues and questions of power. Her paintings are realistic & mixed media and reveal the women’s inner emotions, their beautiful dreams and powers and their fears. Mahtab’s compositions are bold and have a high black-and-white contrast. Mahtab’s focus has recently been on digital painting and body art ( tattooing).Her discovery of how the skin of the body can also be a canvas or place to transfer your design and idea. A place where art and design can grant more attraction and beauty to a human’s body. Mahtab's tattooing style is characterized by bold, high-contrast black-and-white designs or coloured that showcase her realistic style. She is well-versed in a variety of styles, including Black & Grey, coloured, Realistic, Illustrative, Abstract, and Lettering.
