My name is Cassie, I’m a freelance illustrator based in Bristol. Studied a degree at UWE BA Drawing and Print, due to Covid and not being able to use the printing facilities I was forced to create my own work at home, that’s where it all began. Creating my digital illustrations and teaching myself how to animate frame by frame through Procreate. Through my illustrations /short animations I capture atmosphere, mood, lighting all of which are driven by a narrative. Deep blues and warm orange run a theme throughout my work. My illustrations are heavily influenced by jazz and life around me. Jazz has been the thread-line and inspiration throughout my jazz illustrations and creative direction. Whether it is a calm flicker of a street light or a man playing the trumpet looking out to the city lights. My aim is to immerse the viewer into my illustrations and animations through emotional response or engage the viewer to just be lost in the drawing, even if it’s for just one minute. I enjoy creating beautiful textured illustrations that embody my sense of freedom when viewing the image and when I’m in process of creating my illustrations.
