About
Gregory Penrice, aka Drastic One, is a first-generation Chicago graffiti artist whose work emerged from the city’s early mural and train-writing culture of the 1980s. His StreetArtOne style blends graffiti, sci-fi, indigenous symbolism, skate culture, basketball, and urban abstraction into a distinct visual language. A winner of the Chicago Transit Authority mural competitions, Penrice earned scholarships to Columbia College Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been featured at the Museum of Science and Industry, Merchandise Mart, Columbia College, Marshall Fields, and the DuSable Museum. Today, he creates murals, logo systems, collectible art editions, and evolving Blockhead/Flying Heart mythology projects through StreetArtOne.
