Originally from the uk, I brought my practice to Australia in 2009. My work is the result of over 20 years of practice. This experience contributed to me being awarded residency in Australia, being granted a Distinguished Talent visa by the Australian government, recognising my artistic ability, and contribution to the industry. Predominantly, I create work using an airbrush using acrylics however through my extensive knowledge of paint through art and being a qualified trade painter, and bespoke decorative finish artisan, I am equipped to paint on any surface with whatever paint is required for a long lasting, high quality durable artwork. I have painted countless murals, completed many commissions and customised vehicles, across a broad range of subject matter. I work closely with all my clients, working within the parameters of a brief or collaborating on ideas with a wider range of artistic freedom. I paint portraits, landscapes, wildlife, still life…… there isn’t anything i can’t paint realistically. The majority of my work has been in a realistic style however I do not like to pigeon hole myself, and as an artist I am always looking to evolve and experiment with new styles, be it playing around with new materials, texture or introducing more abstract elements. My skill set allows me to take on any brief, and adapt to creating the characteristics required for the project. The goal with my work is to provide identity, beauty, and character to the spaces I transform. I like to push the boundaries of detail, and capture the life within the subjects I paint, be it the temperature and energy of a landscape, the character and emotion within a subjects eyes, the softness of an animals furr, the beauty and nuances of colour within an arrangement of flowers….. and hopefully to have the viewer feel something.
