Yarram Chalk Art Festival book inspiration Perfume

250x150m Perfume: The Story of a Murderer It’s a novel inspired by the sense of smells and their relationship with the emotional meanings that scents may have. This book tells the story of a murderer who, obsessed with finding the perfect perfume, kills multiple girls to extract their natural body fragrance. What struck me about this book is the passion with which he is interested in the search for perfection, like an ever-evolving artist. he is attracted by the beauty and smells that each of us has; every smell can be linked forever to our memory, there are smells that make us happy, others that make us melancholy and sad. Every smell has its own importance, and he, the murderer, has found the perfect smell; a young girl with pale skin and fiery red hair, who strolls through the village with a basket of yellow lemons; hence the inspired part related to my design. The focal point of the book, the discovery of her, the first character of the book itself. We find two flowers, one still alive, one gently withering away by losing some of its petals, life and death.
