This piece began with that creeping feeling of being watched. I wanted to create a painting that doesn’t just look back, but interacts with you. The eyes are painted with a subtle optical illusion, so their gaze follows you as you move, giving the faces an almost living presence.
Using mixed media—oil and acrylic—I built soft but distorted textures to capture that blend of curiosity, tension, and unease. This work was created for a local exhibition, meant to draw viewers in and hold their attention just long enough to make them wonder who’s watching who.
