Meet the Artist
London, United KingdomObserving, drawing and designing have always been a huge part of my life. Almost anything would have triggered an idea for me to sketch or to create. From curtains to a dress, tree twigs to a house…
I gravitate towards bright, intense colours, using colour pencil and acrylic paint as mediums and Photoshop. Influenced by my background in architecture, I visualize in 3D, often leaning towards paper collage as a technique. Cutting each character out and then placing them together to interact and to create a narrative, I feel like I am bringing the story and their personalities alive, almost as if in a movie set.
Fascinated by human characters, furry creatures and velvet mushrooms, I like my illustrations to be emotionally expressive, full of movement and uplifting, with a hint of humour. Drawing on my experience as a fashion designer, I love to depict the essence of fabrics and textures of different materials.
Originally from the Czech Republic, lived in the UK, but currently residing with my family in Gibraltar.
I have been honored to receive various awards for my figurative paintings, sculptures and illustrations. Recently I have been awarded first prize in a Zine international competition showcased in Gibraltar, St Vincent, Vienna and in London ICA.
