Woodland Learning Space by Katreina O in Littleton
Woodland Learning Space
This is a piece I created for a school that helped redesign their Early Childhood shared space. The space was 550 sq ft, and the piece was completed using acrylic paint and interior paint. Each portion of the piece incorporated different woodland animals chosen based on each classroom's animal mascot. I worked closely with administration on creating a design that fit their vision, including the animal choices, colors, and a children-centered design, hence the illustration-influenced style. The goal was to recreate the space to be a fun and creative learning space for young children. I painted this mural independently over the course of a month. This was the first independent mural project I've done, and it was so much fun to help make the clients' vision a reality!
Meet the Artist
Littleton, United StatesI am a Denver-area artist with a background in multiple studio-art mediums. I have been creating art my whole life, mainly smaller scale painting, but have recently branched out into mural painting. I have been involved in several public school beautification mural projects, and last year I created my first solo mural that helped to redesign a space of 550 sq ft for an Early Childhood Center. I specialize in art catered towards reinventing spaces for children, including schools, nurseries, or children's bedrooms. My art style is inspired by storybook illustrations, and I love incorporating animals in my work. I believe art can do so much to change a space for the better, and I would love to help you add that extra loving touch to your space! I also work on smaller-scale projects, such as canvas painting and illustration, and I have a background in special effects face painting and makeup design.
