When are you visiting your Baba by Nat Pop in Gold Coast

When are you visiting your Baba

This piece is from an ongoing body of work titled "Absorption" wherein I use the seemingly mundane corners in a person's home to tell a story about them. I call them Indirect Portraits This painting is based on a photo I took in my Baba’s house on her orchard in country Victoria. The Saxa salt has been an iconic staple in her kitchen, along with the jar of roasted peppers that she still grows, picks, roasts and hand peels. Jars fill her fridge, pantry, and garage as well as our luggage every time we go to visit.
