As a Fine Art graduate in 2013, I was obviously lost. During the five years that followed I created and ran a small screen printing and custom illustration business in Manchester. Two knackered shoulders and a European love interest later I find myself in my third year as an all out artist in Lyon, France.
Due to the nature of my life's progression I have been lucky enough to become very involved in several art forms, from large scale portraiture and landscape painting to magazine and book illustration. I work only in tangible media, essentially any non-digital medium that can ruin your clothes in an instant, including, oil paint, acrylic, pen and ink, pencil, photo montage and onwards!
Colour is one of my passions, we're not talking about garish, clashing colours, but colours that sit together wonderfully becoming a whole grander than the sum of its parts. Colour theory is an important aspect of my work as it effects how the viewer perceives it, after all who's more important than those kind enough to take time and look at your art.
